Ok, here is the problem.... I want to be able to send a message to another user. I however wonder if there is a possible way to do it so that I can go through the browser. The computer is connected to the same network but under the "services.msc" in Windows XP that computer has the "Messanger" disabled. I could go to the trouble to enable it but wonder if there is a way to connect through the internet, (or network, or whatever), so that I can bypass all these problems and have some sort page pop up on their screen or just a pop up in the Browser. Or is there some sort of online program, (on a server), that I could use to just send an IM instead of both computers having to have something like AIM or something. I have tried PSST and net send only works if I have enabled "Messanger" through services.msc. Any ideas? Even if there is a way to telnet through the internet, is this a possability? Some way to connect as a messanger would. A prompt pop up is fine, she'll accept, I hope

Hmm.... well say I have access to "her" computer as she is in the same class as I and I could technically come in a little earlier and flip a few settings. However I don't exactly know which ones to "flip" Besides, I don't want it to pop up from which computer it is comming from which is the way that it works with flipping the services.msc messanging. What I wouldn't mind doing is just have some sort of pop up come up that says something that I type in, and invite her to come into a chat room. Is this a possability? Something though where I don't have which computer it is comming from.

Thanks,

Brian

For security reasons there is no way to pop something up on someones computer without them setting the computer to accept such things.

Such as, you could use telnet or ssh or ftp or voip (voice over internet) but they would all require that she have something installed and listening. So there are options for setting up a private IM kindof thing without using something that opens you to EVERYONES IM messages. But not without her help on it.

You could always invite her to a private "chat room" that is off of both of your systems.
