Greed. Think of the CEO's and stockholders who want more and more money to the detriment of their employees. Loss of health insurance, lay-offs, loss of retirement benefits -- all of which lessens the quality of life for so many people. More and more people are losing their homes & life-savings and are looking at poor retirements & poor health.

The loss and pain felt by family members as well when people are imprisoned for scamming or robbing their companies.

It encompasses other crime as well; drug dealing is a good example. We all know how that destroys lives and marriages.

It is a sin which has far-reaching effects.

Cruelty would be my first answer, but after I actually thouhgt about it what would life be if we lived in a perfect world?
Boring is what it would be, I think we need all the emotions we have to make life what life is supposed to be. We need excitement and drama. Right now I'm in a huge fight witha group of my friends, but in the end we will probbaly be closer because of it. And I was tihnking about taking out jealousy, but if you think about it envy helps us improve ourselves. So I want to stay just the way I am.

To me though, it has to be 'Envy'. Like Greed, Envy is characterized by an insatiable desire; they differ, however, for two main reasons. First, Greed is largely associated with material goods, whereas Envy may apply more generally. Second, those who commit the sin of Envy desire something that someone else has which they perceive themselves as lacking. Dante defined this as "love of one's own good perverted to a desire to deprive other men of theirs." In Dante's Purgatory, the punishment for the envious is to have their eyes sewn shut with wire, because they have gained sinful pleasure from seeing others brought low. Thomas Aquinas described Envy as "sorrow for another's good".

Cheers and have a nice week ahead :)

Greed. Why because greed is often the core emotion responsible for other soul destroying and relationship destroying emotions such as jealousy, hate, and anger. It is often the first emotion responsible for the many wars.

I wouldn't eliminate anything. Every emotion has it's place, and if you took an emotion away (embarrassment, for example) we would do stupid things all the time because we had no shame. Kind of like some of us already . . .
