It's one of the most over-played and overrated pieces of music on the planet - the Canon in D by the late Baroque composer Johann Pachelbel (1653-1706). Largely a composer of organ music, Pachelbel wrote a few pieces for other instruments, including the Canon and Gigue, of which the oh-so-popular Canon under discussion is the first part. Spare us!
