Sure, why not. If the english can somehow manage to scrape an existence from the place, a few kangaroos should have no problem.......
The easiest way to tell is to obtain a sample of the said sh!t. Kangaroos eat grass, greyhounds eat everything, including kangaroos and each others sh!t.
Taste it .
It should be easy for a man of your sophistication to discern the difference.

No, Father. That was just Charlies wife Camilla. Whilst pottering around in the Royal garden, she felt a call of nature. Dismissing her minions, she took a dump where she thought no one was looking. Unfortunately, you managed to spy her. That was neither a kangaroo or a greyhound, but a Rottweiler.

There IS a colony of wallabies living native in this country, down towards Devon and Cornwall.
Again, like the Ring-Necked Parakeets that now plague London and the South-East, they started off as pets that escaped their owners and have since bred and survived in the wild.

Well I'm not sure about all the cons of New Zealand but one reason it may be underpopulated is that it is extremely far away from a lot of places you know? And the economy thing you pointed out isn't necessarily a good thing either.

Maybe it's a bionic version of Skippy. Just put 50p in the pouch slot and off he goes.
