In case they need to go after Iran's nuclear sites. Iran has placed most of the nuclear production and research sites in mountainous areas and/or partially/completely underground.

Having said that, the article is much to do about nothing. The Air Force has been expanding the B-2's weapon compatability for several years now. This specific project has been known about for a while. Check out globalsecurty.org for more info. They have what is probably the most extensive information you're going to find outside of the DoD or Pentagon.

If we are then it is to destroy hardened installations somewhere. Iran is a likely guess but this could just as easily be maintaining military readiness as preparing to launch a sneak attack on Iran. Neither intention would surprise me too much.

Because it's smart to always be prepared to smash our enemies. I hope our military has plans to nuke Canada in case it's ever necessary.

God forbid if they're prepared. I'd rather they have them just in case than be scrambling for them after the fact.
