I think they all have progesterone in them. It is what make you bleed. I've heard that it is not safe to take estrogen without progesterone, because it will cause uterine cancer. That is why women who are going through menopause only take the estrogen-only hormones if they no longer have a uterus. I'm not totally positive about this information, but you can ask any pharmacist, they will know what is in birth control pills and should be able to recommend some others that won't cause vomiting.

Odd, I always thought the oestrogen made you sick. Anyway I think they all come with progesterone. Either combined with oestrogen or alone. I don't think they make oestrogen-only. I will have a look online. You can try stuff like the shot or patch which is hormonal too but might have a different effect on you. If you can't seem to handle hormonal contraception, I'm afraid you might have to look into other things like using barrier contraception or getting an IUD. Talk to your doctor.

The hormones in all pills are proceed through the liver. This also goes for injections, and the patch. Try another form of contraceptive, such as the Nuva Ring.

I stayed so sick on the pill, that my doctor switched me to the Orthro-evera patch. I stopped thowing up every morning and it was just as effective as the pill for me. I would consult with your doctor though, and see what s/he recommends for you to try next.
I do beleive that I read somewhere that there are pills that do not have as high of dose of progesterin, but I'm not positive. Check with your doc.

First of all birth control pills will give you cancer, and lots of other wonderful things that are bigger worries than you describe...you should not be on them...you girls want to have your cake and eat it too...but thats not reality...you are sexually active and dont want to be pregnant...but you are hurting yourself by taking the pills....if you learn about natural family planning you will learn there is a safe natural way to practice birth control and you will not have side effects....of course it will also require you to have some self control from time to time and to be more responsible and active in taking care of your LONG term health...

Look into this. It's 99.3% effective birth control, and it's natural. I bought one and it's working great so far, and there are no side effects!
