Neil Armstrong, definitely. I can't even imagine what it's like to set foot on another planet (more or less) and look up in the sky and see Earth. It must have been a heady emotional cocktail of pride, relief, astonishment, and soil-your-spacesuit stark terror. I still consider the Moon landings to collectively be the pinnacle of human achievement thus far.

i'd go with christopher colombus. sailing to the ends of the world. visit new unknown places. confront new animal ans plant species. on the land and in the sea. cool....!
