I have to make a model of an atom of Iodine. It doesn't have to be edible, but I would like it to be, since we get extra credit if it is. What should I make it out of? BTW: It has to last allll day since science is my last period class.

You could probably use some kind of candy, like jelly beans, for the neucleus. Maybe cherry = protons, licorice = neutrons. For electrons, maybe use those cake decorations that are little silver-colored balls or something like that. To serve as a base to hold everything together maybe some kind of round, flat cake (maybe just the bottom layer of a layer cake). Pick a color of frosting that is different from the "atom" colors so they show up easily.
