If you live in Wisconsin, then you would be foolish to go to a SUNY school. If you threw a dart at a map of the United Staes, you would be more likely than not to hit a state that has a public university that is better than the best SUNY school.

Wisconsin would be one of those states. Only a few public universities are better than U of W. Those include Michigan, UC-Berkeley, UCLA, Virginia, Georgia Tech and (possibly) UNC Chapel Hill.

If you are financially independent, you can qualify for in-state rates in California and many other states after one year.

Depends on where you live. I graduated with a great education for only a total of 43,000 dollars in debt. This paid for all classes, food and housing costs.
