I used to live in KANSAS, the liquor stores only sold beer, wine and booze. NOT even ice. So many times you'd have a store with 50 different beers or maybe 20 kinds of scotch.
NOW I am in California and the liquor stores suck. They are so busy selling gum or twinkies, they hardly have 10 kinds of beer. I have heard of other States with differing stores. WHAT IS IT LIKE WHERE YOU LIVE ???

We have a great liquor store here in Idaho.. (yeah believe it or not) It's a cute little store and the guy that works there is the greatest alcoholic ever.. he always knows the fun new stuff to try. They have ice, the little shot bottles, and even a discount if you pay in cash.. how bout that? I told him he needs to start those lil punch cards for me :)

Well well well...guess what? I used to stock those liquor stores in Kansas for you. I don't know how long ago it was that you were here, but they can now have a separate party shop with everything you could want. Soda, mixers, cigars, ICE, and all the liquor do-dads that are so nice to have.
I drove a liquor delivery truck to almost every liquor store in the state. The only ones I didn't go into were west of Salina. But I did deliver the booze to the drivers who did go out there.
I did that for 10 years.

Where I live, you can send your kid to the corner store to buy you a beer. Beer costs as much as a softdrink (it used to be cheaper than). You can get spirits from just about any supermarket. I don't know any dedicated liquor stores ... they must be out in the posh district, not worth the trip. Why go all the way there, and have hundreds of wines too expensive to chose from, when the local supermarket has just about as wide a selection, including some that you can actually afford?

we have ABC stores, alcoholic beverage control, which are the only places where liquor is allowed to be sold. basically just a monopoly for the state. the states getting rich off of drunks, who'd a thought? they have all kinds tho. beer and wine can be bought at any grocery store and we have several types to offer. oh yea, and ice you get a gas stations or grocery stores, not at liquor stores.
