Go for anything Alfred Hitchcock. Rear Window is a good one, (Disturbia is pretty much a re-make of that, and is okay, too). Ummm, I'd suggest Steven King, but you said no F-words, lol. Also, M Night Shymalon is an excellent storyteller, too. The Village, Lady in the Water were both real good. I can't remember if The Village would meet your criteria, but Lady in the Water would. Hope this helps.

I'm not sure if this had bad language but I thought The Blair Witch Project was somewhat unnerving. I don't know of too many that wouldn't have at least the gore. Unless you went with something really old.
