Fungi are eukaryotic, because they have a nucleus. They have cell walls, similar to plants. But they do not have chloroplasts, and can not synthesize their own food by photosynthesis. They are saprophytes. They are not microscopic. Their mycelia can be one mile long. Some of their fruiting bodies - mushrooms - are more than one foot in diameter.
