I've been off the pill for a while, my husband has had a vasectomy, so it's not to prevent pregnancy. We've been away from each other for a few months, and I would really like to not have my period for when I get to see him. Normally I wouldn't alter my system, but this is a very rare occassion. I just bought the pack of pills.

Please be understanding of the situation, and help me if you can. I have gotten 2 different opinions from health professionals, and I need a tie breaker.

Thanks for all your help.

People I've known have done it, but they did get side effects when they went back to there normal cycle - basically they got the pain/feeling of two periods in one sitting.

I don't think it would delay your period...If you want to skip a period, the best thing to do is to stay on birth control and then start a new pack right after you finish the old pack (w/o taking the placebo). For you and your husband, though, I hope I'm wrong.

It should delay it, though whenever you start birth conrtol things can be a bit screwy for a few months while your body adjusts. You may get unwelcome breakthrough bleeding, or you may be fine.

It might, it might not.

It varies from person to person. Give it a shot, hopefully it'll work!
