The first of the three consecutive numbers is X. the second is X+1 and the third X + 2.

3 ( X+1) = 5X ; However, this indicates that the number is half-integral ( 3/2 ) rather than integer.so it doesn't work for consecutive INTEGERS although it does work for 3/2, 5/2 and 7/2.
