"I don't judge by the group. Anyone that judges by the group is an idiot.

I take people on a case by case basis"

.......because judging by the group is a generalization.

Because you are guilty of preforming a hasty generalization. The group has a consensus as their credo or decision or whatever, but within that group there are certainly many varied opinions concerning the issue at hand. So judging by the group is a disservice to the individuals who make up that group.

Because every individual is different. Even if you could say something negative about 90% of a group, imagine if you were part of the 10%. How would you feel to be judged not by who you are but by what somedoy else did or is, something you have no control over?

Judging the group goes with the cliche birds of a feather flock together. If a group of people went to the store and several members of the group robbed the store then the whole group would be charged.

Smart people shouldnt hang in idiot groups.

He is not always right.... It depends on if the group is a voluntary group or not.

If someone voluntary joins a group then he or she obviously agrees with the characters of the group. Thus, it, at least, partially, defines the person. For example, if someone joins a gang, he made a conscious decision to join and participate in anti-social behavior.

On the other hand, if the person belongs to a group because of some character not in control by him or her, then his decision or mentality has nothing to do with this "membership." Thus, it is impossible to judge the person by the group. For example, grouping people by skin color or birth place, does not necessary define a person.

Judging people by the group is impossible, if you are expecting to come to a fair and accurate conclusion. Everyone has different characteristics, habits, etc. Therefore you cannot determine with complete accuracy a true or "right" judgement based on a group of individuals, you must look at all the circumstances or details that make up each individual.

judging people by group is generalization.

a person, for example, being a part of a group doesn't mean that he is ALWAYS doing the deeds of that group.

judging by group doesn't show one's credibility of a person.

another example, she is a government official, and the government officials in that place are known for corruption, but she is NOT...

get the picture?? ^^.^^

...a sure way to be wrong.
If we all judged "by the group" people would still believe the world was flat and the center of the universe.
It's better to think for yourself instead of following the herd.

dumb. Not all people of the same ethnic, religious, sex, age, or whatever group are the same. Judge people on an individual basis, not because they belong to a specific category.
