gum diseases effects so much more than we realize. My deceased partner was declined as a kidney/pancrease transplant because of an uncontrolled gum infection.. sadly, the man was trying his best to rid himself of the infectin up to the day he died..he never stopped trying to live....I miss him so much is hurts day and night. That is my infection, and flossing will not help. Love and and peace, Goldwing

Have been flossing several times a day for years. I have a reach flosser by the computer and by the sewing machine and by my easy chair. It gets to where you just do it when you arent even thinking about it. And yes I knew it was that important.

I am very good at my flossing in the last few years, but not when I was young. That site is very good and also to pass onto grandchildren who don't even like cleaning their teeth.

Yes, I know it's very important in your overall health. I didn't know about the relationship to cancer though, thanks for the article. I have floss in several areas in the house, in the car and in the bag I carry. I also use a type of water pik.

I floss every night or when needed. My hygienist checks for oral cancer every time I have a cleaning. I also use Listerine to hold down the plaque. Thanks for the info. Very important to do.

Yes. Your gums can't become infected leading to blood poisoning. Untreated you can die. Archeology and anthropology have uncovered many remains of people they determined died from infected gums. Many mummies in Egypt too.
