Do you notice that we woman change to whatever standards men find to be attractive?

Look at how many eras we went thru..compared to how much men went thru..?

And as the yrs go by, the looks of a woman for a man has become UNREACHABLE without plastic surgery. The problem is ALOT of men don't knwo its surgery..and think that woman can NORMALLY look like that..

Do other females see that or is it just me?

Some People say females are more dominant..but it seems men still hold power in that aspect because we accomodate to a mans fantasy..while they stay the way the are..

Yea! I do find women love to compete! But then I also see that these woman are competing to be the PRETTIEST in a man's eyes..

Even in the corporate world..the man is the boss..and you have to look pretty for him!

You guys are also very tru about the media. I know alot of men don't like every celeb they on tv..but they do have a preference!

The white communtity=big boobs
Black community=thick and big butt
hispanic=big everything in the right place..

Men will pay those girls attention more than anyone else..kind of forcing women to change to attract them!

Good point. Its kind of sad what we'll go through really. I think part of the drastic steps women take to look attractive (such as plastic surgery) are partly to attract men, but also partly to compete with other women. We're in a place where women have to rely on their looks to get ahead, while men can just rely on the fact that they're men. Im not a beauty queen and I never will be one but I'll tell you one thing. I'll never resort to plastic surgery, just to attract some jackass man. If a man will only like you because you're 90% plastic , then what kind of man is he? I also think that things like beauty pagents just re-strengthen the idea that women are just objects. Thats the reason a man can become a celebrity just because he has some talent (have you seen some of the male actors/singers? They can be ugly as sin but still famous), while women have to be extremely talented, AND extremely perfect. And God forbid they let themselves become slightly less than perfect (ie -britney spears isnt 30 pounds anymore), Media and fans alike rip them apart like sharks. The first step we need to take is for women to stop looking at each other as competition, and instead of trying to out do each other, we need to start supporting each other.

I do not see it that way. If you look around you, you'll notice all of the men changing aswell. I think society as a whole is becoming more and more obsessed with vanity. C'mon. Guys are very much into botox, hair plugs, better razors, lazer surgery, liposuction, steroids. They are right beside the women when it comes to improving their bodies to near plastic standards.

On another note, plenty of women modify themselves for personal reasons. Larger breasts make them feel more sexual empowerment- a more streamlined nose not because that's what 'guys go for' but just because that little bump from when she broke her nose always sticks out like a sore thumb when she looks in the mirror. Pathetic as it may seem, the general population is becoming more and more shallow. Wanting to be all that they can be- their ultimate best- when really all they need to do is find themselves and learn to love what they've been given. The human body is an amazing work of art and everyone is so precisely cut-absolutely nobody is alike. I have a feeling, one of these days the imperfections will be more valued than ever, and every plastic cutout barbie doll lookalike will be crying her eyes out in repentance to the temptation for wich she fell.

I could also stem this subject into a rant on natural selection and survival of the fittest. Keeping in mind everything people are doing to their bodies, if it continues at this rate, how the hell are people going to know what their natural born children will actually look like? Ahhh....I could rant for hours...

Actually, I don't think it's men....it's the screwy norms set by the media. Most of the men I know don't think that anorexic women are attractive, yet that's what our magazines, movies and TV shows constantly flaunt at us as attractive. It's true that, eventually, some men fall under the spell and start to think it's attractive because they've had it beaten into them by media images. But most men I know like natural, regular women when it really gets down to reality. Only the insecure ones go around ogling the scrawny "trophy babes" because they think that's what they're supposed to do.

You feel like you have to look pretty for your boss? Wow...you're a lot more accommodating than I am. Maybe that's part of the problem !

Frankly, I have my own preference of what women should look like and it ain't the stick figure of Jeniffer Aniston from friends 'Ugh'.

Not to mention it seems women like to compete too and try to out do each other in the looks department. Every seen men talk about how cute they are to each other? Not straight guys any ways.

Oh and it goes the other way too. Men behave and look at the level women accept them so the man can have them. Remember Dave Chappelle saying if we could get away with impressing you with a card board box as a house and have our way with you, most men would live in a cardboard box?

Well the world is filled with flux and people need to adjust to keep up. It's not a man / woman thing, it's jsut the way things are. Why are leading men no longer gold chain wearing, hirstute, cigar smoking, etc like they were in the 1970s, for example

Hmm... It's hard to pin point on this issue from both sides because we dont see than mnay GUYS in ads. The few we see have the guys portrayed topless with perfect abs and wide shoulders always looking a bit like girls. I dont pay any attention to that at all. I wonder if guys pay attention as much as we do.

I TOTALLY agree with you!

On average, some men have set their standards way, way, WAY too high thinking it's normal!

Then why do you do it?

Be yourself and if men don't like it, too bad, so sad.
