77 = 9/5x + 32
77 - 32 = 9/5x

77=9/5x+32
First distribute like terms:
9/5x = 77 - 32, or 45
Divide both sides by 9:
1/5x = 5
Multiply both sides by x:
1/5 = 5x
Divide by 5:
x = 1/25

77 = (9/5)x + 32

Solve for x by getting it on one side of the equation

1) Subtract 32 from both sides

45 = (9/5)x

2) Divide by (9/5) {To get x by itself}
It might help to turn 9/5 into a decimal to do this if you have a standard calculator and not a graphing calc or one capable of fractions

45/(9/5) = x

25 = x

x=25

Plug and chug and you will see it works out

Hope this helps

The first thing to do is subtract 32 from both sides to get the variable alone

45 = 9/5x

Multiply both sides by 5/9 to get rid of the fraction with the variable

45(5/9) = x
25 =x
