In addition to an undergraduate degree ( or a combination undergrad and law degree ), you need three years at an accredited law school ( the days of taking the bar exam after apprenticing with a lawyer are over ).

You should investigate the various kinds of law you might practice by meeting with and talking with lawyers. Many, perhaps most, lawyers do not like what they do. About 40,000 lawyers enter the profession every year and about the same number leave. However, a legal degree is often transferable to other activities and sometimes substitutes for an MBA in some investment banks.

Relatively few lawyers enjoy the glamour and big bucks of the legendary lawyers of fiction and the news.

It is best to research for yourself and then consider others suggestions. When you research it for yourself then you will have a discerning spirit of what to believe. Google has a great search engine.
