As a Sox fan, I believed they would win Game 1. Beckett is a phenomenal pitcher, and the Sox have been hitting VERY well their last few. But it is currently 6-1, and the bases were empty @ 2 outs. I didn't expect this greatness. Did you?

C'mon people. Let's give credit where it's due. Suck it up and admit that Boston is an awesome freaking team.

I didn't think this would happen either, I figured the score would be much closer. Beckett has been awesome so far and the offense has been consistent inning to inning for the Sox. Go Red Sox!

Actually I wasn't sure what to expect, but I am sure happy with the outcome!! (huge sox fan!!!)
I'm nervous though I hope they keep with this same momentum and don't get cocky. As far as figuring Beckett out, he won't be playing again until game 5 so I don't that.
The Rockies have a rookie pitching tonight, hopefully he will be better than the pitiful pitching performance last night from the Rockies and make it more interesting.

GO SOX in Soxtober!!

It is not greatness. The Rockies have been off for a week or so, they are rusty, which is what happens when you get so many days off in the playoffs. The Sox have been on fire since beating the Indians for three straight games, they are hyped. Let's not forget that the Boston are at home too.

People who don't believe time off breaks momentum....well...your seeing it right now in Game 1

Red Sox just finished their 7 game series....and have brought the energy from that series tonight.

I wasn't expecting a blow out but Sox winning game 1 I did.

yea, i'm sure the rockie fans didn't
the ones on here for the most part acted like this series would be a peice of cake

they thought just because they won the last 22 games or whatever this would be easy peasy

did they forget the AL is A LOT harder than the NL?
or that the sox hold the best record this season?
or that josh beckett was pitching?

it's still early though
i'm still the rockies will get more runs in

With Beckett pitching, yes...He's got the Cy Young locked up...and unless Colorado can shut down the Boston offense, the series is gonna be one-sided...

The Rockies may have used up their luck getting there, but I wouldn't call it until the fat lady sings. Pulling for the Sox though:)

What? Doesn't matter - they still suck. So does Boston! I don't get it - when they lose, you guys blame "the Curse" and when they win you say, "Oh, they're so great, they kick @s$". Whatever. It's a fluke.

Yankees have won more World Series than any other team. That's who's great :)
