I know a Ragin (like Reagan), Madison, Harrison, Carter, and Lincoln. I think it is a nice trend. Beats the heck out of a lot of other names I've seen on here! Those are names that people will associate with character. Nothing to be ashamed of!

Well, those names are all legitimate trendy names right now, so maybe she wasn't doing it after the Presidents. As a history buff myself, I automatically thought of the Presidents (Ronald Reagan, James Madison, Jimmy Carter and Ulysses Grant for those of you who don't know it), so I would never do it, as it really sticks out and is awkward to me. But as a sibling set they kind of mesh together and are very trendy so I don't think many people would notice.
Name sets like James, John, Theodore and Henry would not be obvious at all, but they're all Presidents too.
I've heard of trends like naming children after jewels, cities, countries and royals but never Presidents. Its a little weird to me.

Clearly it's a trend for your aunt.
I don't mind those names at all. Good strong names, all.
There does seem to be a bit of a trend to use surnames as first names but I doubt it's all that recent of a thing. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
I knew a fellow whose name was Stewart Mitchell. Hmm, or maybe it was Mitchell Stewart. See what I mean?

I'd say that individually they are all nice names... so political affiliations don't matter in those cases... other acceptable: Jefferson, Jackson, Tyler, Taylor, Pierce, Arthur, Wilson, Kennedy however if someone named their kid Lincoln, Bush, Washington, Cleveland, Monroe, Buron, Polk, Fillmore, Buchanan, Johnson, Hayes, Garfield, McKinley, Roosevelt, Harding, Taft, Coolidge, Hoover, Truman, Eisenhower, Nixon, Ford

I've heard all of the names before and never really thought of them as just president names(except for Reagan). I like all of the names, but it is odd to see them all together it make you notice the president thing even more.

it is a bit odd but just hearing those names I wouldnt have known they were named after presidents as I am in australia
I have a friend who is trying to follow the same trend except she choose Australia Prime Ministers
her 4 boys names are
Benedict after Joseph Benedict Chifley
Edward after Edward Whitlam
Paul after Paul Keating
John after John Howard
her girls name is Julia after Julia Gillard(australia's health minister)
she is pregnant with her 6th child and guess what she wants to name him if its a boy Rudd after Kevin Rudd although he is not yet a prime minister
oh and her girls name and if its a girl Helen after Helen Coonan(australia's
Communications Minister)

it seems a little weird to me but they are all normal people's names too not just presidents. Better to call them those names then something like Apple and Moses or heaven forbid any of the Geldoff girls (peaches, pixie, heavenly etc..)

nicely, good success with that. i comprehend lots of Georges and expenses which at the instant are not any the place on the factor of being president. if your toddler is fascinated in politics, then i could say inspire him. help him do nicely at college. Have him volunteer by way of college and extreme college. great question nonetheless.
