We heard the latest this afternoon, on the radio, and again by
Katie Couric awhile ago. I'm not sure if two or three people
were involved. But they killed one and one got away. With all of
the devastation of homes and now lives and injuries, what do
you think would be the appropriate vindication by the law?

When we first heard the arson story today, it was on a station out of San
Francisco. And the press had reported
it was to be investigated in relation to
terrorist activity. The talk show host,
asked for opinions on that. But as he
said, what would have been the purpose
for the devastation of all those homes
and the lives disrupted. I suppose they
have to weigh all the odds now and
looking for explanations. At Ft Ord, they
showed a 'fire tornado' swirling out of
control. Seems the troops were unpre-
pared for anything like that, and didn't
secure their perimeters. Haven't heard
about anything else that occurred there
however. Just witnessing that fire tor-
nado was amazing. That was bizarre.

Yes I also heard the same new, but what is ironic, is just before that news report Harry Reid Senator from Nevada and the Majority leader in Congress, stood up and blamed it on global warming.
He looks like another fool again today.
When will he ever learn.
I pray for those in California.
When will it end and how can so many, pick up the pieces and go on.
The great thing about America is that the people WILL pick up the pieces and build up their lives again.
I'm sorry to say but it's better for all concerned that the guy who was shot and killed will no longer set another fire.

The Santiago Canyon fire east of Irvine is an arson. The fellow who was shot was hiding in brush. The AP headlined it as an arsonist being shot. But, if you read further down in the story the police say there is no evidence he is an arsonist. Always keep in mind that, on many occasions, "breaking news" is "faking news". They have to do more "cleaning up" after the original is broadcast than the custodial crew in a fraternity house after a "kegger". LOL!

I read an article about it after I saw your question. It's just hard to believe a person could be so vicious and cause all of this terrible devastation with those fires. There's no punishment severe enough for someone who would do this.

This is terrible. And you know what? they will get 6 months with Parole. I think, they should get life. And you know why? Because that is the only way that they are going to get the message across to these people. Light a fire, get a life, in prison.

Had not heard that bit of news yet. That is vile and the punishment would never be good enough. People died and murder charges should be filed too. OMG the devastation.

WOW NO I didn't hear that. I'm in OZ so maybe on the news tonight.
Hard to justify shooting one tho!! Despite all the devastation our police would not have killed anyone.

Its shocking that someone would do such a stupid thing. They ought to be in prison for the rest of their lives.
