There is a difference in being proud and throwing it in peoples faces. I have never had a real problem about my lifestyle. Most people I have worked with knew over time if not right away. I don't go around saying, "Hi, my name is (blank) and I'm a lesbian and I'm proud of it. I do carry myself with respect for myself and the people around me and if asked I will not lie. I don't try to hide it either. If people do not wish to associate with me because of my lifestyle that's fine, they are missing out on having a friend. Not a lesbian friend, just a friend. I don't allow myself to be bothered by them, I have more important things to think about including those I can call my friends. If you worry about them making fun of you your not doing something constructive for yourself. Shine them and know they are the ones missing out on having you as their friend.
