Home teams usually do better than road teams on a percentage basis. Nothing like sleeping in your own bed, knowing the ballpark fully, etc. I'm not sure the fans are as intimidating in baseball as they are in basketball, where it's an enclosed arena and the officials are subconsciously affected.

A better question: how does home-field affect this World Series? I think a lot. In Boston, the Red Sox get to use David Ortiz as the designated hitter. That's a pretty good bat to stick in the lineup. I don' t remember the guy the Rockies used at DH, but he did hit ninth.

In Colorado, Boston will have to sit someone, and not use its full, normal lineup. Advantage, Rockies.

Yes they have a huge advantage.
During the season they had the 4th best home record, 51-30, and the energy in Fenway just builds up so greatly, the Red Sox just can't lose. The Red Sox are also 6-1 in Fenway during the postseason.

Great fans! Fenway is an awesome stadium! I've been to Fenway many times and the atmosphere is unlike any other stadium other than perhaps Yankee Stadium. When your in Fenway you feel like a kid again, and I'm sure the Red Sox players feel similar.

Of course...Home field advantage...The home fans try to rattle the away team...It'll be like that for Colorado when the Red Sox go to Colorado too...

Absolutley..plus they're coming off a come from behind win and they're ready to go. The rockies had off too long, it's going to hurt them like it hurt the Tigers. My prediction..Red Sox in 6 games

They know how to hit off the green monster. That alone is a great hitting advantage.
