gel pads work wonders, but i say just stick through the pain. thats what i did and now i wear heels to school and all throught the day! :] it's awesome. make sure to practice walking with poise in them though, becuase most girls who wear heels look like their backs are broken when they walk, haha. good luck!

I have so many pairs of shoes, so I would say I have a fair bit of experience regarding them.
My first advice would be just like others said, wear them out. Meaning wear them often to get your feet used to the shoes and for the shoes to soften enough - not so stiff.
Buy gel insole that supports your feet, the gel should provide extra cushion for your heels.
The height of your heels also play a major role. The higher they are the more pressure your feet get.
My rule of thumb, I don't normally go beyond wearing 3"heels when I know I will be dancing, standing and walking a lot on them. Heels that have more than 3" height are more suitable for occasions that wont require you to have a lot of feet movement. But some people can handle beyond 3" heels, it is just a matter of getting used to for them, so it might be the case for you.
If all else fails and your feet still hurt, then take them off when dancing and minimise walking in the homecoming. In the future, try finding the right heels for you; consider styles, material, comfort level, height and so forth... sometimes its a journey to find even the right heels for you.
Have fun and good luck!

First, I recommend looking for a heel with an ankle strap so you're not contorting your foot to try and keep the shoe on.
The best way to get used to heels is to wear them to the grocery store. This is the perfect place to walk in them, because not only do you get to walk up and down long aisles, but you have a cart you can hold to keep you balanced.
If your feet still wind up hurting halfway through the dance, bend your knee and lean on one hip, so all your weight is on one foot. Later, switch.
Hope that helps!

Well you can put Moleskin on the balls of your feet or where the balls of your feet go on your shoes, it peels off easy but sticks well too. Or at walmart, London drugs, or Zellers you can buy special gell pads for high heels...anytipe! It works! I'd personally go for the moleskin cuz it's cheeper, but the gel pads are way more comfortable but can range from 10 dollars to 40 dollars, and can also be bought at shoe stores like payless for shoes and sport check but sport stores probably won't sell them for high heels, then you and your heels can walk happily without tripping or any pain!

Sorry but the only thing that will help is the gel pads, they just put a ton of extra weight on one spot. that's why ladies down town are seen wearing jogging sneakers at lunch cause they real good, but hurt.Take care. They do have other stuff, but most of my gf have found that those feel best.

You can put little pads in your heels before you wear them. They're specially made for heels, you can find them at almost every drug store, ask for scholl heel pads. Get the gel ones too, they worked great for me :)

I took my shoes off during homecoming anyway...so maybe you wont need to worry about wearing them. It was cool being barefoot...but then again, my feet were realing hurting by the end of the night. People kept stepping on them. Sheesh!

You can buy little cushions to put inside the shoes. You can get them just about anywhere--Rite Aid, grocery stores. They are made by Dr. Scholls and others.
