I bled after my C-sec for like 4/5weeks and stopped for a couple days or so and now I just started again and it's CRAZY heavy like worse then before (I know TMI) but its real bad and I don't know if its normal. I can't stand up without having to hurry and go to the bathroom and change my pads. I cant where tampons for 8/9week the Doctor said but I did have sex twice when I stopped bleeding and I know she said no sex for 6weeks. Does anyone know if thats normal to bleed THAT MUCH? Its gotten me worried...2 periods in 1mth and REAL heavy and kinda like a black thick red color. My Mom said my Uterus might havent of contacted right or something.....?! But she isnt sure since it's been forever since she's had a period.

well after childbirth you'll bleed for a good long while!! and if a pad is getting full in less than an hour contact a doctor or a guinacologist to check out the situation!!! im happy your babys healthy though!!

No, it's not normal to bleed so much that you're filling more than a pad every hour. In that case, go straight to the hospital.

It's possible to get a first heavy period before 8 weeks is up, so that could be an explanation - if you normally had very heavy periods.

But if that's not the case, I would be seen right away.

GO TO THE ER!!!! Doctors tell you things you shouldn't do so you don't get an infection. Your body is healing. You were cut open. There is more chance of infections with a C- section than a regular birth.

I agree with Jill, the RN. No one on here can make a medical decision for you. We don't know your history or any other factors. I have had 2 c-sections and this does not sound normal, but then it could be normal for you but you haven't followed Doctors advice so you could have an infection. Please see a doctor. Your baby needs you to be healthy.

I got a period with both babies even though I breast fed. I had heavy periods right after. My midwife said if you soak through a pad more in 2 hours or less for about 2-4 pads, it is too much and to go to emergency or call her

It could be that you are doing too much activity. You really need to relax and let your body heal. That means no sex or trying to do a lot of cleaning. It's about time for you to go on your follow-up appointment but if you are saturating your pads that much, you need to seek medical attention asap.

If you're saturating pads quickly, go to the ER.

Otherwise, call your doctor and let them decide if you need to be seen. Maybe you're getting your first period after delivery. No one here is going to be able to tell you, everything is just a guess.

i hemaraged once the doc says rule of thumb if you bleed through an overnight pad every 20-30mins you need to get checked, but if it just gushes out when you stand it prob the position your sitting in... if u are that worried go get checked... and next time follow drs orders give your body time to heal....

good luck

If you are saturating a pad more than once an hour, you should call your doctor.
