they (gay people) will be bread out of existance, not we (human race)

Social acceptance allows people to more freely act at child bearing ages..... so instead of having 3 kids then "coming out" at 40 , a person would just be gay and not have kids.

I would say Social acceptance has a huge impact on a highly social species.

You are seriously messed up in the head. There is something wrong with you if you can not see the difference from 2 people loving each other and terrorists. There is nothing modern about being gay or transgendered, it is the choice of people and is becoming more accepted because there are less people like you in the world. How you have managed to get this far in life is a wonder. What rapists and pedophiles do is illegal, what homosexuals do is legal and natural, they make love, just in a different way than heterosexuals. The world is changing, but you are just a few hundred years behind the times.

According to the 2000 US Census, an estimated 2-10 percent of the population is gay (male and female). That leaves at LEAST 90% to procreate.

Given that homosexuality is a trait people are born with, I highly doubt that the population one day is suddenly going to be born 100% gay.

I'm not sure there are more gay people (in proportion to the population) than there were fifty years ago... people are just more free to admit their sexuality without as great a risk of retribution as back then.

The human race is NOT in jeopardy and probably won't be.

what? Just because being gay may become more accepted in our society that doesn't mean more people would become gay, and even if everyone in the world were gay the human race wouldn't cease to exist because there are sperm banks which women could go to to get pregnant without having sex!

Not true. Not everyone will become gay just because it's getting more acceptable. If you look at TV and magazine ads, you'll see that heterosexuality is alive and well. Besides that, many gays have children before they discover or acknowledge their orientation, so being homosexual does not preclude reproduction.

This is true of the characteristic is truly inherited. However, we're not entirely sure why some people are gay and some aren't...

And it only applies if these couples decide not to raise children, which is not always the case.

You contradicted yourself. Darwinian evolution relates to natural selection and spontaneous evolution. Social acceptance has nothing to do with evolution of the species.

Uhm, isn't our problem OVERPOPULATION?!?
Biologically gay couples can't bear children (with each other)but there are other routes to parenthood.
Quoting Darwin out of context has got to be a MINUS.

I don't think homosexuality is any more a threat to the continuing of the human race than say...contraception. And there's nothing wrong with either of them... :)

I'd be more worried about nuclear holocaust / global warming / bird flu
