the itchy area comes up in little bumps & is mostly on my arms & legs. My gp says its nothing to worry about & wont even do a blood test? he says it poses no risk to the baby but im not so sure ... every site ive looked up has indicated that this can be v dangerous for the baby if it is because of liver disfunction. What should i do? Has anyone else gone through this?

I'm17 weeks and 4 days pregnant too, that's neat. I just started itching today. I try not scratch becasue with my first pregnancy everyone told me I shouldn't do that. I'm trying an anti-itch cream that I just bought. So far today it has helped. I think you may want to consider a 2nd opinion. I've heard that it can be linked to liver disfunction as well, although itching is quite common. Good luck.

I had the same thing all over my calves and thighs. The rash is usually a concern when it is on your stomach. I bought an anti itch cream and I put it on everytime I get out of the shower and its amazing. The doctor told me it was fine to use. I wouldnt worry too much. Because you are pregnant your body is producing so many hormones that can cause you to break out in a rash. Try the cream..if that doesnt work talk with your doctor again!

It doesn't matter what the doctor can tell you. If you are not satisfied go to another one.
I found itching common in all 3 of my prenancies but that was mainly around my thighs and belly and boobs. You have got a thousand and one hormones swimming around your body and your skin is stretching where it has to therefore you get the itches get some cocoa butter and lather yourself in it!!!

Whenever you have a bad feeling about something and your doctor brushes it off, I would suggest you get a second opinion, and maybe switch dr.s

i would suggest seeing another doctor, maybe an OB-Gyn specialist for help.
