OxyClean!!! Soak the jeans in water and OxyClean for a couple of hours, then wash with detergent and OxyClean. Use the water temperature you wash in as normal, for both the soaking and the washing.
I got a months old pizza grease stain out of a very light shirt this way, without damaging the color.

Bleach will do more than fade them, it could leave white splotches. I'd try a spray on stain remover, pre soak them overnight in Tide and then wash them in Tide the next day. If the stains are still there, don't put them in the dryer as that will set the stains further. Try more stain remover and another soak and wash first. If that doesn't work and they are so stained you don't want to wear them, you could dye them a darker denim blue with RIT fabric dye to hide the stains.

don't know what kind of stains you are dealing with, but hydrogen peroxide is a milder bleaching agent. it is excellent for removing blood stains. try soaking the jeans in hydrogen peroxide and check it so often to see if it is removing the stain. good luck

A Miele washer (German brand, also sold rarely here in the US; they heat up higher and have a better working cleaning process).
Talk to a German, many miss their German washer and German dishwasher ... or bought a Miele over
