Why is it that so many people think they can act, when they don't even know how to behave in real life?

Perhaps, they acknowledge that their 'real life' sucks, and to act out a different spectrum is an escape for them into something that is imaginary, the people that they meet and encounter while under this act don't have to become no more to them than characters in a movie. You stated, 'so many' that alarms me that the world is in need of urgent care and attention before things start to escalate into fakeness, thus crime WILL run rampant because people will have lost natural affection, love, empathy, assimilation (identifing with others'), and morals. I am not sure of the Psychology behind peoples actions, some are genuinely crazy, some do it because they are stoned / or under the influence of drugs, some do it for money, some are just genuinely evil. Still, others are under the oppression of sin and the bondage of contracts they agreed to while doing wrong. Again, the fake side may be better to deal with than if you saw the real them. Either way, I will try to maintain my sanity and use ACT mouth wash every morning -- had to crack a joke!

perhaps because acting is pretend, its fake, and the person has to take no responsibility for what they do/say while acting, and they are usually told what to do/say
on the other hand, real life does take much more effort, thinking, planning, and responsibility for actions
