I have a soon to be 11 month old daughter and I am 36 weeks pregnant.. My daughter is the exact same way.... But she is only like that with me.. I am a stay at home mommmy so she sees me a lot and is more used to me than anyone else.. Babies start to get really clingy around that age so I don't really think she knows you are pregnant... but you never know!! .... If you are around her for most of the day, then that could be why she is like that also... which I think it's the reason in my case!

She is too young to understand. However, you do not need to worry about her hitting your stomach. Babies are well protected in there. A 10 month old's hand can NOT possibly hit hard enough to do any damage. But if you feel uncomfortable with it then just tell her "No that hurts mommy" and remove her hand, or distract her with something else. Don't give her a ton of attention when she hits you though, she'll learn that hitting doesn't equal attention then. But if she does it, don't worry too much. The baby is WELL protected by the amniotic sac.

It's possible she senses it. I have a 11 month old and he acts like that to, I think it's just a stage they go through. I'm 28 weeks and for a while i thought he knew because he kept cuddling to my belly but now I don't know.

I doubt she knows that you're pregnant. 10 months is a common age for kids to start going through seperation anxiety which can involve crying when familar people (ie mom, dad) leave, wanting to be held and cuddled constantly and fighting new situations. My guess is it's totally normal and just a phase she is going through.

That is just her age, my daughter is 11mo. and getting very bratty. They get frustraited easily and do not understand that they can't get their way yet. I am 36 weeks and I believe my daughter just thinks I have a tummy like grandpa. hehe. I try to show her babies a lot and she loves them but never seems to get it when I point to my tummy.

I agree that it is a separation anxiety phase kids go through. I doubt she has a clue about the pregnancy, not that she's dumb, but that just doesn't seem realistic to me.

No, she doesn't know what being pregnant is. She may sense a change in you though and that's making her feel uncomfortable.
