No shootouts- play until somebody scores. To keep the game from dragging, reduce the number of skaters by one for each 5 minutes until you have 3 on 3 after the 10th minute and play until somebody scores. 3 on 3 would be so wide open, somebody's going to score quickly at that point.

If I could only choose one it would be to get rid of regular season overtime (including the shootout).

I'm old enough to remember when the NHL didn't have regular season OT and watching the last 4 or 5 minutes of a tie game was great because both teams were going for the win. Now the last 4 or 5 minutes of a tie game is the most boring part because the teams are playing just to get to OT so they are guaranteed a point.

exciting yet i don't truly like it. What happens while the goalie freezes the %.. do we've a face-off back before the penalty starts. what is going to finally end up going on because of the fact the already penalized group will take a 2d penalty at cases and then its 6-4. it could artwork yet could be a issue for the officers as you properly understand. If the purpose is better scoring on the PP why not make communities serve the total 2 minutes no count if the PP group scores or not. Like a significant penalty at the instant, the total penalty might could desire to be served, in certainty before while that became into the guideline till the Habs of previous have been given too effecient on the PP. comparable result yet no actual variations to officiating or how the sport is performed. As an aside did you notice Ottawa virtually placed it of their very own internet against Boston on a in the back of schedule penalty Saturday night.

Re-evaluate what constitutes High Sticking. A few times I'd see a player go down on the ice, whether by losing an edge or being tripped, and as their arm hit the ice their stick would go vertical and harmlessly clip some passer-by. If you're lying prone on the ice, you're not going to be mustering much venom and the resulting high stick could hardly be defined as an "act". Yes, a player is responsible for controlling their stick, but isn't it better that the stick is held on to rather than having it fly across the ice?

Wow, I've never seen that before: the first five answers being garbage. Just one, huh? I've always liked no-touch icing, so I guess that's the one I would change.

LOL Yes, Mike, I gave him the thumbs down because I'm on a diet. Really, if I wanted road kill, I'd go to the next hillbilly town (probably Buffalo....ZING!!!) and ask them if I can buy some off them.

i like the 10 min ot idea but id still do 4 on 4 and then if you tie shoot out - it would make less shoot outs but i wouldnt want it just to be a tie after the 10 min ot because every game there should be a winner so ties are gay.
get rid of diving and get rid of delay of game when you flip the puck of the glass in your zone

SHOOT OUTS I hate shoots outs so much i mean make the game a tie or more over time shoot outs are pointless. and the reffs i mean I was watching a game and there was a clean check and the guy went to the penalty box whats with that? I still love hockey tho but watch some old time recorded games and compare them to present.

Wow some of you people are morons:
no offsides?
no fighting?
shootouts in the playoffs?
no, no, no

If I had to change one, I'd say add icing to a team on the PK, no sense being rewarded for breaking the rules.

Bring back tie games for regular season. Shootouts make the game as ugly as soccer. Next thing you know we'll have injury time.
