They are already. Trans-fats are banned in NYC restaurants.

Yes to a certain degree.

It is the government's job to regulate the amount of false advertising and accurate labeling corporations put on food in order for the public to be able to decide what is healthy or not. The public can decide for itself AS LONG AS they are giving accurate information.

They could help by banning the use of toxic chemicals in food, and forcing companies to be completely honest about ingredients. But that wouldn't be profitable. They could also help by telling the truth about our nutritional needs instead of encouraging over consumption of certain food groups. Again, that wouldn't be profitable. And we don't want the doctors and pharmaceutical companies to lose money by making people healthy.

According to the Constitution, the government SHOULD NOT be allowed to regulate what we eat. That is our own business.

Unfortunately, however, power hungry neo-cons and big government liberals try to control everything we do.

This is where Democrats also have it wrong. Our nation is doomed if our people cannot be trusted to choose what's right for them or not. It gets us a step closer to tyranny.
