so, im having my first heavy period [4th time having it about]

im just now understand the annoyance.

so my day went-

i wake up to find that somehow the night time pad didnt cut it, and it past the pad andgot on my bed sheets.

its so gross to have blood basically in between your butt, almost, AND DRY BY THEN.

and it continues to go there during the day, making it itchy and disgusting.

i feel so gross, i just want to skip school, and stay in water.

so i had to change my pad a lot, and when i did get the chance at school my pad was full, and i already felt unconfortable.

then when i get home after awhille i take a shower, it use to be that i could just get out and my period wouldnt start up again for 10 minutes, i cant even get out of the shower without blood dripping on the floor or running down my leg.

bleh, please help me with these problems, its been a long day.

I know completely how you feel...I used to have really bad periods like yours. I would try using tampons, especially Supers for days when your flow is that heavy. You might also want to wear a pantyliner or a pad as a backup if you are worried about leaking. At night, or if you really want to avoid tampons, try using Kotex overnight pads or a pad like Always Maximum Protection that has the leak-lock gel stuff in it to absorb the flow better. If you use pads and have that problem when getting out of the shower, dry off in the shower, and have a pair of panties with pad already in them near you so you can put them on as soon as you get out.
Finally, make an appt. with your doctor or a gynocologist, while periods do vary in heaviness, if this continues, you should seek medical advice. Good luck!

Sorry to hear that you had a sh*tty day.. when I used to have those problems I would use a tampon and then to feel more comfortable I would wear a pad also... just incase it leaked. I now hate pads and will never wear them because of the "butt thing" you were talking about :) Well, long story short I went to my Gyno - you should probably get checked out just incase there is a reason for the heavy bleeding- and I got on the pill (you can also go to planned parenthood if you are uncomforable asking your parents). It helps to regulate my cycle and now I only have about 2 days of very light bleeding a month. Good luck, hun, I hope it all works out.

honestly tampons are the answer. super plus size for days like this.. and they arent gross and itchy and no blood anywhere else. i started out using pads and once i switched i never went back and never will..

p.s. get tampax pearl variety pack! they will be verrry easy for first time use.. goodluck!

P.p.s. Consider birth controll even not being sexualy active there are some that give you only 4 periods a year!! seasonal!!

i know how u feel....it gets very annoying....& uncomfortable...when u have a heavy flow....and u make sudden jerks or stand up quickly it moves the pad around...also irritating....i have gotten into the habit of wearing tampons...you hardly know they're thereunless they are inserted incorrectly...plus....you dont have as much irration & u can wear them n the shower...but same as pads...you move 2 quickly and they leak...all i can say is change them as often as needed or recommended and try to keep down there as clean as posible...if u need someone to talk to feel free to im or email me...periods are a pain but can be dealt with..

First of all, I hate using pads..use super tampons instead...you won't have the problem of it getting all over. It also helps if you set an alarm for halfway through the night so you can get up and change it so it won't leak. Good Luck!

Just curious about how old you are. Sounds like if it's that heavy you should consult your doctor. They sometimes prescribe birth control pills to regulate periods. I know when I was MUCH younger it worked for me. But once again see a doctor. The curse women face, I know it sucks. LOL Good luck.

If this is your 4th very heavy flow period I am a little concerned. It is hard to say exactly what the cause is of the sudden heavy period could be. It could be fibroids or a number of other things.

I would advise you to see your family doctor so they can assess you more closely.

i'm not sure hown old you are but birth control does regulate your cycle, and it also has some side effects but you should just visit you gynecologist and see if he or she can put you on a pill thats going to minimize the bleeding and also help with the cramps. I work for a gynecologist and we have pts like this all the time. good luck and be safe always.

Wear lots of pads, and watch Benny Hill. The music will make you laugh and forget all about your chick problems. Guaranteed.
