AIM is the most well-used im in america.
internationally, mst people have MSN messenger.

You could always get both that way if you have friends with Yahoo and Aim screen names you can talk to them on both messengers.

Everyone here uses Yahoo IM. If you click on a profile and see a lit Yahoo IM, you can chat with them. There is nothing to stop you from having both!

AIM - More people use it, and the avatars bounce all over, causing a nice effect.
Yahoo IM - Less people use it, but you can customize your colors more. This is my favorite.
I'd advise AIM though. More popular.

I recommend that you get & install a NIM ... Nutty Instant Messenger ... One that has a huge bandwidth such that I can send you fruit cakes..... yes I think they will let me send you fruitcakes through the NIM ... I promise no more than one fruitcake an hour ..... you can eat the first 3-4. I would mind if you sold the rest.

Yahoo IM-- you can do so much more like send files, pictures and even webcame ...plus they have cooler emotions..and like they're animated...
plus, if you have Yahoo! You can talk to people on MSN!
Seriously, Yahoo is the way to go and once you get one tell me and I can show you what i can do ^__^

definitely AIM.
very few people have yahoo messenger, but you could still get an account just in case you meet someone who does.

I have both yahoo and hotmail they are both great. What am trying to say is that they are all great use the one your friends are mostly on.
