Everyone would be required to dress the same, everyone gets paid equally regardless of job or rank, everyone gets treated with the same care (education, heath, and food) equally, even if it's just basics, nobody is treated superior or inferior, everyone is told what to do and everyone has the same rights, etc. So, do you think it would be ideal? Would you like to live in this world? Why or why not?

The government would. That would be the only exception to equality. They would be given special powers, but above that, everyone is equal.

The government would be under close observations to ensure that they are following procedure. There would be cameras to make sure that what they do would be acceptable, as would with everyone else. I doubt people are driven by money and success alone.

Well, if there is incentive to work, then people will work and the incentive here is force! Why would you want to live in a world where people label others as "better" than others? That is how it is like in a capitalist system. Not everyone is able to become a doctor. Why not be what you are passionate for rather than doing a job because it pays alot?

No such a world would is inherently doomed to fail. You can't pay "equally regardless of job or rank." That is an invitation for laziness and shuts out ambition and opportunity. Why work harder when there is no reward? You have to have market competition for the better of all. Why bother to invent things? Why bother going to college? Why even bother getting a job when you can just get the same healthcare and food as everybody else?
The only thing that seems acceptable are equal rights. Beyond that, nothing should be equal- let individuals work it out.
QUOTE: "The government would be under close observations to ensure that they are following procedure. There would be cameras to make sure that what they do would be acceptable, as would with everyone else. I doubt people are driven by money and success alone."
I find such a notion morally repugnant. It is virtually slavery- with government as the overseer. And you are dead wrong about how people aren't driven by money and success. This is the very reason why parents send their kids to college. This is the very reason why drug companies develop new medicines. This is the very reason behind the standardization of longitude, the invention of even recent services like amazon or ebay, the development of automobiles, or passenger planes....etc

Only in fairy tales.
The first problem is that someone must set those standards. Who would that be? Every civilization has either a representative legislative body or an ultra-elite ruling class. In economics, which really IS politics, the same fundamental question must be addressed - What is the method by which limited resources will be allocated to the unlimited wants and needs of people?
Under the hypothetical situation you describe, there would be a small ruling class that decides what 'equal' means. Humans are not perfect, and everyone has ambition to some degree. The people deciding what equal means would undoubtedly have a completely different definition of 'equal' for themselves than they would for their subjects. Exploitation and repression go hand in hand with socialism and/or communism.
For Americans who want this system, there are plenty of places where you can move to.

If I work harder than my coworker, I should make more. Equality is great, but can also bring laziness if there are no incentives. Ask any kid who looks forward to a good grade for hard work, or an employee who gets a raise for good work. Incentives work, equality does not in many cases. The government works for us, they are not supposed to be more powerful, have you read the Constitution...? It sounds great to think everyone would work hard because they love their job, but many would not if the guy sitting on his butt at work made the same, take the rose colored glasses off, I see the real world every day, and you aren't in it apparently.

JJ, with all of the problems that we people face in this world, your question is a very good one. "Would this world be ideal if everyone was the same and everyone agreed with one another? And no one was slighted and everyone was treated equally."
The correct answer to your question is "yes" this would most certainly be a better world, if everyone agreed with one another and if everyone treated others fairly and courteously. If this did exist, the entire world would be better off for it, but this is not the reality that we are facing.
We live in a world, where people have choices and people are supposed to prosper by merit. Those who work hard are supposed to receive the blessings of their labors. But, that is not always so. So, in the real world, a practical world, we have hatreds and divisions and people must learn to make due!
By prosecuting wrongdoers, especially the one's that commit big crimes, we, the people, are re-setting our world back to normalcy once again. Expect the sorrows and work through the pains, but try to be honest to the point of seeing to a better world for all. If we allow, for example, 300,000 or 650,000 people to die at the hand of some dictator and this dictator came from our nation. And we did nothing about it. We would be guilty of blood letting and our entire nation would be doomed to some final destruction by other nations around us.
Yes, in life there are problems, but life is good overall and people must still keep trying so that we can make this entire world a much better place in which to live.
In China, they are going to push for democracy and Christian values, peacefully and with the approval of government. China is going to have an excellent President in 2008. An intellectual, who has experienced the pains and pangs that all people feel and has experienced what life is like at the top of the ladder too!
The next US President must be such a man (man or woman) so that he (he or she) can move the world effectively. Is Hillary ready for this change soon to come about? Is Obama? Giuliani is way out in left field and can not see heads from tails. Others are clueless!
Keep trying and suffer through your pains. You'll be a better person for it!

Ok - lets say that this works... everyone has the same rights.
wrong.
some would work harder and get paid the same as someone who worked less... that doctor is always on call, he lives next to the garbageman, who is in the same state he is... however, the doctor is on call, all the time, and the garbage man isn't.
question: is that fair?
What do I think would be ideal?
Well - ideal relies on an ideal people... we don't have ideal people... but lets create a few ideal people.
these people are completely honest, a equally highly intelligent, and all look alike... unfortunately, they are all suck at cooking... they are all brilliant leaders, but none of them makes a good follower.
Differences are important because they allow for self-identification and healthy diversity. Diverse salaries to denote the value of the work that they do.
The system you propose would be hell for me, because there would be no motivation to do better than the person next to me.

This is a bad Idea...
This is why
You:
You Show up for work on time or are early and stay late every day and give 110%
You work Overtime most every time asked. You learn as much as you can about your job. You do things without being asked. You ask to learn new things about your work area.
Me:
I am a lazy no good for nothing slacker. I am always late, call in sick often, leave early, When asked, I always have an excuse not to work overtime. I constantly want to change my work schedule.
Do you think I should be on equal footing as you?
I say NO WAY!

I would hate that. Imagine if there was no individuality? Yes, equal pay sounds nice, but Joe Blow works 60 hours a week picking up garbage should be paid more than the politician who works 25 hours a week attending photo ops and doing nothing. Music, art, literature, etc would be boring and in essence, you can't know the good without the bad. It would be horrible

It won't work.....again, IT WON'T WORK.
Now pay attention: It won't work.
Example: In the old USSR, 10% of the farms were privately owned by the farmers - 90% were owned by the state.
The 10% of the privately owned farms produced over 35% of the total production. Why? Because I don't own the farm and I'm not going to bust my butt 10 hours a day to feed my lazy neighbors.
