it can put itself back on the upright position on its own but be careful where it lands when tipped because it can easily drown if tipped on water.

Historically, hunters/poachers keep their stash of turtles on their backs when being transported.to prevent them from escaping. Some are even put on their back for months (during sea travel) but fatalities seldom happen, unless there is something really wrong with the turtle.

hope this helps.

Most turtles in most situations can right themselves.

Water turtles kept in too-shallow of water often flip and drown, and sometimes land turtles flip in ways they cannot get back over and will eventually die of exposure.

In neither case, however, does just plain being on the back kill them. they don't like it and it is uncomfortable, but they are not automatically doomed.

YES most of them can flip themselves back over, they do this with their neck muscles..BUT...humans should not do this for amusement. It adds undo stress...

sure it will ! Unless it's ill . Just be sure it has nothing getting in it;s way,
We have had a painter for three years bringing him in for winter (we live north ) and putting him in our small pond outdoors in summer . He can leave anytime but he chooses to stick around , He flips no problem . If your 's doesn;t it may not be well . Keep the area and water absolutely clean !
