2 Minutes? I could clean the whole house in 2 minutes! If I were on crutches, or in a wheel chair and had to get down stairs in two minutes and could only grab one thing on my way out, I would probably grab the phone so I could call the fire department.

I would call 911 then lay the phone down. I'd take 10 - 15 seconds to grab the Fire Extinguisher. Then I'd spend one minute trying to get the fire under control. Then I would get out if smoke starts to become an issue.

Anything i think is important, of course, i would grab my fat mini weiner dog, like most people would grab pets. Personally, I would grab my dog, journal, my favorite t-shirt, a book, and my favorite 3 animals (maybe all of them, depends).

Childhood things are good to take too! Depends on how neat your home is and how big it is! You only got 2 minutes!

Well, of course there is the obvious like the family and pets, but I think you are talking more about objects...
In that case I would take my bible and journals. Bible because mine isn'tjust like any other one where I can simply buy a new copy. Mine has become very special to me because I have had it for such a long time, and I like to write my thought and insights on the pages, along with highlighting favorite scriptures. It has become a very personal thing to me. My journals because I have written in them for forever, and I want to be able to keep them so in the future my family and myself can benefit from what I have written in them. There are many advantages to keeping journals.

Assuming that you have gotten everyone else out, then I would go after the stuff that can't be replaced, pictures, papers, and a cell phone. To be honest, if you are in a fire, get out and then worry about it later. Be sure to call the fire department as soon as possible. 2 minutes in a fire can make a difference. Once it gets going, it goes fast.

good luck.

I had this situation 4 years ago at the Thanksgiving day. The apartment wasn't on fire, but smells of smokes coming in from a distant unit. Fireman knocked on the door and said everybody had to get out of the apartment instantly. At that moment, you couldn't think of anything. Just get up and run, of course, with your family.

My wonderful hubby, that has had a stroke and my daughter. If I have time, I would get the 2 dogs and my 3 cats. If not, I would leave the doors open so they could hopefully get out.

I would get the kids and get out. I am not taking the chance with only 2 minutes.
