i need to mail a present to someone but it's more of a surprise that has a second part to it that goes along. is it possible that i don't have to put a return address on it and she won't know who it came from... Even if i put it in one of the blue mail boxes outside of the post office? [i don't know what they're called lol] thanks in advance :]

Correction to the above...the Postal service will not mail packages that are dropped in boxes or without return addresses. If it is truley a package. If it fits in an envelope, you may be able to get away with it. Go to USPS.com for rules.

I don't think it's safe to put mail like that in a mailbox
you should use priorty mail or ups or Fed Ex, for the
assurance that it gets to the person and not get lost.
If you explain to the post office why you don't want to
include a return address, it may be OK.

I believe you have to put a return address on all packages. If its a surprise see if you can put the address of a friend or a place of business. You don't have to put a name on the return just an address. I don't think UPS or FedX require a return address.
