Of course we should;-} we need to get off this planet.
That way we can learn to appreciate how special it is.
Maybe we'll develop new materials & sources of energy.
Ultimately, that will help survival of humankind on earth.

Yes. Everyone else is. China is going to the moon. And so is India and Japan. Do to really want them to stake a claim on space without a contest?

And what would you rather see your money spent on? Little adventures like the one in Iraq that has cost about a trillion dollars so far?

I feel very strongly in favor of space exploration. There has got to be a way to utilize the moon, asteroids and the planet Mars. Plus increase funding towards listening for possible intelligent radio signals.

We get all our TVs and most other electronics, and a large number of cars from other countries already, but at least the U.S. is still #1 in aerospace. So you just want to give up our last area of excellence to other countries and buy all our satellites from Japan, launches from Russia, airliners from Europe and watch the first people on Mars speaking Chinese? No way!
