I have been trying to bend spoons for the past few days because it seems really interesting and fun to do. But I am having trouble. They say that you are supposed to channel energy into the spoon and it will start to feel soft and bend easily. I close my eyes and try to imagine energy flowing through me into the spoon, and when I attempt to bend, it does not work.It is also said that you can't think about bending the spoon while actually doing it, but I find this hard to do because I am aware that everything I do comes from trying to bend the spoon. Does anyone know any good websites that can explain the process thoroughly?

BTW, I am not trying to bend it with PK, but I am using both my hands to bend it and twist it several times just in case you meant bending it with PK.

I know how to do spoon bending. While I won't tell you the details (that would take the fun out of every magic trick), I can tell you that it relies more upon illusion than it does on imagining the energy flowing through you into the spoon.

The process isn't paranormal, etc. Instead it just involves "fatiguing" the metal sometime before the trick is done.

In other words, begin trying to bend the bowl of the spoon holding the stem in your other hand... the weakest area of the "neck" will begin to get softer (physics) and begin to bend a little when you bend it back and forth awhile. Straighten the spoon back up, then when time to perform the trick, push on it gently/firmly and it will bend pretty easily where it was fatigued (you may actually break several of the spoons when preparing them, so have a number on hand).
The reason Uri Geller couldn't do the trick on Johnny Carson was because he was forced to use a regular spoon, not a pre-prepared one. Johnny Carson was himself an amateur magician and presumably didn't like folks passing themselves off as paranormalists when they were just magicians/illusionists.

"Channel energy into the spoon?"

All spoon bending tricks have been revealed to be misdirection or even fraud. They're just tricks, not magic.

EDIT: You need softer spoons.

When Uri Geller was on the Tonight Show, he was unable to bend any spoons because Johnny Carson refused to let him use the spoons he brought - instead Uri had to try and bend some normal spoons that Johnny selected. Of course, he failed.
