What happens to all the unsold autos on car lots? When new models come out, what do they do with all the unsold ones???

I heard indirectly from somebody who works for one of the major auto manufacturers, that they actually destroy automobiles... disassemble them, etc. It makes sense that this is true, because when you drive down the street and see all those auto dealerships not selling cars... you know they have to dispose of them some how.

Alot of car dealers will keep them in thier inventoy until sold or they might take them some where to be auctioned off

They stick them into car auctions to get rid of them.Or if they are really junk the end up in the breakers yard.

they usually discount them to get them moving. thats why its best to shop for a new car just before and as a new model is released as dealers practically give them away.

Believe it or not, most of them are sold. They will be discounted, and if still not sold, they can be used as rentals, or sold at auctions. One way or another, they will be gotten rid of.
