ignore it" form of logic?

Is this typical of either particular party, or is it just good old American politics at its best?

I'm a die hard Republican but this is true of both parties. It comes down to money, they ignore things that need fixing because they cost big bucks and people don't notice things that weren't working that have been repaired. But they do notice something new that they didn't have before. Think about bridges. If the engineers say a bridge needs to be repaired, nobody cares (in fact a lot complain about the construction traffic). But if a politician gets a new bridge for his area, people notice, the politician can say he brought new jobs and is benefiting the people that now have a new way to commute. It goes that way with social programs and public health as well.

Unfortunately the two party system is a smoke screen!!! It hasn't mattered for many years, which party was in the oval office, or controlling congress, the agenda has moved on unabated!!! The spiraling deficit, the decline of the family, the decline of the moral fiber of the society,, now the decline in the dollar, and the push to globalization (one world government, one world economy)! We are on the fast track to hell, and it doesn't take a nuclear physicist to see it!! The power mongers have done a tremendous job of sucking us into their regimen!! Now we are in so deep, that the whole world is going to rock when the chain is pulled to and fro!!! Hang on children!!!

taking something broken and fixing it is a lot more difficult than taking something that works and "improving" or "expanding" it.
