I think in terms of style, Latin American futbol is based on a more technical passing game compared to U.S. soccer. The strategy that the U.S. plays most of the time is to counterattack, while Mexico, Costa Rica, and others play triangulating passes to get the ball on the other side. The U.S. depends alot on the physical strenght and speed of its players who are taller and faster than their Latin American counterparts, and so we must compensate by perfecting our passing and team skills.

Well i am spanish myself so i could tell you in my point of view:
I really see that the passion between the two is very different since soccer is not the major sport in U.S. in all latin american countries it is.... therefore the passion is much deeper. It is something like the football or baseball passion in america but in soccer if you know what i mean.
In spanish soccer, there are like official fans who sing, dance, jump, etc. Im from costa rica, there we call this fan group "hinchas". They are an official group that supports the team no matter if the team is losing or winning.
This is basically one of the things that differs the two from each other
hope it helps you^_^

I do not know. But I will venture a statement that the U.S. teams must fullfill the commitments and rules just as the latin or European team. I make soccer balls and I know they use the same formats there.
