There are more than 12 points of origin for these fires. This seems to be a concerted effort. As you come across info please post it here. Thanks!

Honestly, I blame the moronic media, especially the ignorant "weather people".
99% of the time, the only thing weather reporters can say is "nice weather". To make themselves sound important, and to get you to turn to the news shows so they can sell more advertising, they play up the possibilitys of what "could" happen during a Santa Ana event.
This just teases and gets the fire starting perverts all worked up. Than you have a million people displaced. Homes, businesses, and lives destroyed. Starting fires is like a form of masterbation to these societal rejects.
It doesnt take long to drive along a rural road, and start a string of fires.

I read the LA Times story. You have to get well down into the narrative to find out there is no credible evidence that the guy who was shot was an arsonist. They said he was somebody in the brush who wouldn't respond to police directions and challenged them. But, the Times gets high marks for a well-crafted "tease headline" bearing no relationship to the facts.

That's crazy !!! One guy was shot dead and the other is in custody !!!
I'm very happy that these guys were spotted before a major fire was started !!!
