Herpetology and Marine Biology can be closely related. It depends on what specific area of herpetology you want to be involved in. Curator of Reptiles would be a zoology area where research is going to be related to herp biology.

A major in Marine Bio can include coursework in herps but a major specifically in reptile zoology or biology probably wouldn't work for Marine Bio careers or grad schools.

I'd suggest a strong Marine Bio program that has some herpetology faculty so you could do your sci electives on herps.

Be aware that both of these areas are likely to require at least a master's degree for good employment prospects and probably a doctorate.
