He gets on his hands and knees with this small hand held hoe/rake tool, pokes/digs his lawn up and down and puts some of the grass in a bucket to dispose of. He already has the world's most perfect lawn.... no patches, weeds, very green, etc.... so what is he doing????? Thanks for your help.

Probably airating the soil, lets the water down to the roots, maybe he just obsessed or boored.......ASK HIM..........########

Maybe aerating his lawn - literally poking air holes in the ground for water to saturate into and to give the roots some air. Just a guess.

He's airating the lawn. Basically letting the grass get more oxygen and stay healthier.

he is allowing for the water to seep further down
its good for the grass tohelp maintain the "greenness" all year through

air reateting it air water firtilizer get in dirt. better to make lawn healthier. once in fall once in spring..

he is creating holes so oxygen and moisture can reach the soil to keep it growing nice and healthy and Perfect!
