We all have instincts. And a grudge is normal for instincts. But they can be troublesome in that they linger on inside of us and tire us out and usually there is no pleasure in vengeance or getting even. And the games people play are basically to get one up on another and grudges are part of the results and are repressed and held in untill payback anyways. Forgiving is a way to put off the vengeance for a more propicious time. When that time comes, a mature personality will realize the futility of this and drop it. An immature personality will still hold it and get even eventually.

No because that means they have some control over me, some power even. it means whatever I do, whatever I'm thinking, they're still part of my day to day life.
So I forgive and just try to get on with things. I never forget, not if what they did or said was intentional, I will always be a little more guarded around them, but I won't let someone elses ill feelings take over my life, I don't have to live with them, but I do have to live with myself.

I tend to get maternal with people who offend me. I worry about how they got so stupid. And, I log that encounter in some mental file related to that form of human behavior so that in time I can make some sense out of where people in general go wrong. I watch people on the roads, for example, who cut others off and race ahead in road rage and such. I try to think what could have made them so emotionally unstable and reckless, about how people get abstracted to the point of such insanity. I'm one of those people who does not blame individuals, because, we are all vulnerable to the same weaknesses. It's much less stressful and more interesting and meaningful in my opinion to objectively consider causes and solutions rather than subjectively "blaming" and "begrudging" and "forgiving".

Hi dear, of course, you would try to forgive n forget the problem, but humanly speaking its easier to ignore the person for the time being. For me, I take a breather first, then, try to befriend that person again but on a more cautious note.

No, holding grudges only hurts me. Half the time the other side doesn't even know we are mad and they could probably care less anyway. Let them go, we have enough to deal with in our lives as it is without walking around being mad at somebody. Love thy Neighbor as thyself.

How can I forgive a man who abused me ruining my childhood and destroyed my brother and sisters?
How can I forgive my mother for standing by and allowing him to abuse us in the worst possible way without lifting a finger to help us?
Forgiveness is a good thing in almost any situation but I think some things are simply unforgivable.
I will never forgive them for what they did to us.

holding a grudgee will only keep u emotionally tied to the person forever, its best to forgive and forget it, as the person you have the grudg against isn't hurt, in fact they probably don't even know they have offended u.

No I just kick their as5 because if you forgive and forget every time they will continue to do what offends you. Ergo it is much less stress full to take care of the initial offense.
