I have a PC, which has burning software on it, and I have an old Imac with OS X installed on it. The mac does not have a burning software, so I would be able to burn the .iso onto a disc on that computer.

So I could I download the mac linux, burn it with a pc and then install it on the mac?

thank you!

If you burn the .iso to a CD than yes; you can install it on it. If you install it I would partition the drive on the IMac and install Ubuntu on the partition, so you have both.
