I agree that the AL is very different than the NL, but still winning 21 of 22 games is pretty damn good no matter who you play, plus they did play some good teams, SD PHILLIES( they were hot at the time they played too ) so i agree im tired of hearing it because out of those 22 games they did play, none matter as much as the next 6 ( im saying 6 because i have the sox in 6)

Hmm, thats one way to think about. But when a team that has been playing at .500 for most of the season wins 21 of 22 games, that's awfully impressively, not just statiscally unlikely. You're right that not always the best team wins the World Series- but often times, the hottest team will. When you say "Im sorry but I think the AL and the Red Sox are just to good for the Rockies. I think any of the teams in the NL that made it to the playoffs this year could beat any of the AL big guns. " you appear to contradict yourself though, and I don't really remember when St.Louis won 100 games. The ALCS was exciting, but as they say... there's a reason they play the games.

It is an impressive accomplishment, but it has also become THE Rockies talking point. Consider, when before have we heard, even a little bit let alone THIS much coverage, about a rather long "almost win streak"? I cannot recall the media doing this before.
They have, however, done something similar before, for a much more impressive team, the 1998 Yankees, who are now well-known for winning the championship with an overall 125-50 record. Has any other baseball team ever had this sort of treatment, where regular season and postseason records are summed? Answer: No. Now, that was an amazing team, a genuine juggernaut, so talented in both depth and breadth (no real weaknesses) that the march to the trophy was, well, rather dull -- there was no stopping them, even losing two to the Indians was more a few summer showers than a real stormfront. And, yes, I realize that the total record is a couple of neatly pleasing multiples-of-25 numbers, aesthetically above 114-48 plus 3-0 plus 4-2 plus 4-0. But this treatment, adding the season and postseason (like the 1998 Yankees needed any additional polish to their storyline) has NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE OR SINCE. It is just a bizarre, inexplicable (and nigh-unforgivable) anomaly in media coverage that, it is clear by now, will never, ever die off. It is one of the key talking points, the unforgettable meme.
So then, as now with the nearly-streaking Rockies. I'm firmly rooting for Boston anyway, but even if I had no stake in this one, I'd be pulling for, if not a Colorado defeat, at least a few game losses just to terminate this noisome talking point and relegate it to the dustbin of history where it belongs.

So explain last year when a team that won 88 games defeated the high flying Tigers.
Think what you like, they play the games because what it says on paper and what the self-appointed experts have to say matters not when they cross the chalk lines.
And I'm saying if the Sox don't win the first two the series never comes back to Boston. How you gonna win when Big Poppa has to sit and there's no one in the lineup to back up that big flake Ramirez?

I have to disagree, The Rockies have beat the so-called best team in the NL(aka The Diamond Backs) in the playoffs and not only did the beat them but they swept them. The Sox better watch out because the Rockies will be gettin out their brooms.

No, because they played major league teams and I think you underestimate the NL. If it was so easy a lot more teams would have done it in the NL, since it sucks so bad. I truly think you have no clue what the Rockies have accomplished.
And PUKDAT, Youkilis will be sitting. Ortiz will play 1B when it shifts back to Coors, Youk will be the odd man out. I highly doubt he would sit out, he'll just take cortisone for the pain.

No! No! No! What is wrong with a fantastic streak? Especially from a team that nearly missed the playoffs.
Sick of it? Hardly!
It's good for the game to see a Cinderella team do good. Don't be such a crumudgeon!
BTW--I think the Red Sox will win but that doesn't dampen my admiration for the Rockies.

I agree with you, partly. But I think you are being a little over confident, and that's never good (just ask the Indians, and all Cleveland fans). Yeah, on paper the Sox have a clear advantage. But remember baseball is baseball, and anyone can win.
The rockies have had too much time off

So let me say this in a way you can understand.... it is an amazing story and this comes from a fan of BASEBALL NOT just of ONE team......

That streak of games was pretty impressive. But as you said NL teams suck. I hate the redsox but they will dominate the rockies. Yeah they made a good run and I don't know they could pull it off and I hope they do but at some point a streak has to end and the best team in baseball is waiting to break it.
